Birthday Cupcakes

I am known at work for bringing in cupcakes when it is your Birthday.  These cupcakes were for Kirsten's Birthday, she was recently engaged- so the theme was" sometimes you have to kiss alot of frogs before you find your Prince".  Every cupcake was different.

One of the cupcakes was the Frog Prince, one was an engagment ring, one had a 23-her age, one had her initials, one had flip flops,  one had a skateboard  (to represent her fiance), some were zebra print and others were made to look like a garden.

Owl and Little Bird Cake Pops

I love owls- I chose to try to duplicate Bakerella's Owl Cake Pops for Matt's birthday treat at preschool.  It was my first attempt at making cake pops- while they appeared to be easy to make- they didn't come without challanges.  They turned out pretty cute, don'tcha think?

COWBOY BIRTHDAY PARTY

Matthew turned 4!  He is always dressing  up in his cowboy hat and boots- so his first choice for a party theme was to have a Cowboy party!  I scoured the Internet for cute ideas (thank you fellow Bloggers!)- and I used the best ideas I could find (with my own twist of course)! I really wanted to have the party outside- but the weather has been so unreliable that we had to rent a space last moment. It was in a dated hall- so it was a challenge to make the room look spectacular.  We set the food table up in front of the fireplace- as it was the best focal point in the room.

Chicks on Sticks (cake pops) and popcorn balls were part of the menu.

Marshmallow S'mores and sugar cookies were also a hit on the menu.  I made little red and white checked  chip holders to provide the perfect serving of chips.

The "General Store" offered hats and bandannas to outfit our cowboy guests- as well as some candy and take home gifts- guests were allowed to "shop" for their choice of take home gifts at the end of the party.

Of course every cowboy needs a horse, so I made each cowboy a sock hobby horse- each with it's own individual personality.

The party had a rodeo for all of the cowboys to showcase the riding talents.

So, the party was alot of fun- not only for the kids- but also for the mom who planned it! Weeks of planning and preparing payed off.

Q1 HIP Awards

Q1 HIP Awards were beautifully decorated in a purple and green colour scheme.  Pom pom garlands were hung to make a backdrop for the presentation area and tissue pom poms hung from the ceiling and the aisle way.

Paper cherry blossoms branches shared the table with the coveted Hippos.

Over 100 cupcakes were decorated in pale mauve and green icing and were topped off with  personalized cupcake toppers.
